The Ohio Wilderness Trail

The Great Ohio Outback Regional Authority under the auspices of it's Ohio Wildlands tourism arm is  announcing a proposal to create a designation for wild trails throughout Ohio that will connect people to wild places.

It's purpose is to categorize existing trails and hiking areas into organized segments that will attract people to numerous diverse wilderness areas in Ohio. 

These segments will be grouped and named to attract hikers and tourist to defined areas with a specific theme and/or demographic designation.

In our mission to protect, preserve and promote wilderness areas in Ohio we strive to get people invested in their surrounding natural resources. We hope this ambitious trail initiative will motive the public to explore, appreciate and protect our wonderful wildlands for future generations to enjoy in Ohio .
