ohio wildland towns

All throughout Ohio there are many wild places to visit and explore. These vast pockets of wilderness are spotted all throughout the state., big and small. In order to help attract people to these unique sites we have categorized them collectively into what we call the Great Ohio Outback Wilderness Regional Authority.

We have strategically divided the state into 17 "Wild Regions" to increase choices and to allow Ohioans and tourists alike, many opportunities to discover and explore these specific and unique areas. The "Ohio Wildlands" is our formal tourism campaign to promote these 17 Magnificent Wild Regions. 

We believe that in order to motivate tourist to access and explore these Wild Regions in the Great Ohio Outback Wilderness we need to attract them to the towns associated with these regions. After all,  if you are going to visit one of the Magnificent 17 Wild Regions in Ohio then you would want to locate the nearest town with the best accommodations and options to stay over night, with the best eateries and best entertainment venues , in order to get the most out of your outdoor experiences and visit.

We decided to call these our Ohio Wildland Towns and we will feature a new Wildland Town on this website periodically starting in the near future.
